How to Keep Your Sanity and Health Through These Difficult Times.

Now, getting back to these difficult and hard times. I know many are trying to move forward by maintaining current employment or dealing with being laid-off, getting that next job or changing careers. Through it all, you must include activities to maintain your mental and physical health. Some are listed below.

  • Have a daily routine of activities and working from home
  • Network with others (for support and information)
  • Take on-line and off-line training and other educational classes (up date your skills)
  • Stay on top of technology information (surf the net, network with others, visit the library, read business news about companies, etc.)
  • Eat properly (nutritional value)
  • Exercise (walk, jog, play sports, but see a doctor first before you begin a routine if you haven\’t been in a routine of exercising)
  • Let family and others close to you know what you are going through (don\’t keep it all to or within yourself)
  • Take time out not only for yourself but definitely take time out for family and friends (we need that daily hug)
  • Take care of self and volunteer to help and/or assist individuals in areas that you have knowledge and experience. But don\’t take on too many volunteer activities that may interfere with your responsibilities. Our problem is that we come together under crisis. We should do this when there is no crisis to build positive relationships.
  • When that opportunity does come along, be prepared, and when you snag that employment (re-employment) you want to be in good mental and physical health to take advantage of it, do the job, enjoy the process and work!
